Main Ridge Dairy
A delightful drive to Main Ridge Dairy, you will be greeted by touring gums, rolling hills and you can hear the calls in the distance of the stars of the show, the goats. There is cheese and then there is handcrafted Main Ridge Dairy Cheese. All of their cheeses are created using traditional methods in a sustainable manner, resulting in the highest quality cheeses. After milking, the fresh milk is turned into a range of handcrafted cheeses, all produced on the property.
Main Ridge Dairy is currently home to over 200 goats, the dairy goats are mainly of the Saanen and Toggenburg breeds and all the girls are all individually named and cared for. The dairy was built to be gentle on the goats, to be gentle on the milk. It’s simple, if the goats are in harmony with the environment, the result will be superior product. You can enjoy a paddock to plate cheese tasting experience, including high quality local produce inside at Billies Main Ridge Dairy or if you prefer to be outside, then head to The Dairy Deck, dine at a table or throw down a rug on the grass overlooking the paddocks and savour the locally-produced cheese
You can find their products at the providore on site at Billies, plus across the Peninsula and beyond, stocked in quality deli’s, farm gates and stores. Diego had the pleasure of cooking with their Goats Milk Feta in his Summer Melon Salad and the Cashmere in the Autumn Beetroot Dish.
